The Cardiology Department at University Hospital "Sveta Marina" - Pleven is functionally integrated within the Internal Medicine Clinic. Doctors with extensive clinical experience in the field of internal medicine and non-invasive cardiology work there. The department is provided with modern equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, including echocardiographs, veloergometers, ECG and blood pressure Holter monitors, etc. The cardiology team consists of five physicians with a specialty in cardiology, three of whom also have a specialty in internal medicine, along with two resident specialists.
An important advantage in diagnostic and treatment activities is the possibility of close collaboration with highly qualified specialists from various medical fields such as endocrinology, nephrology and hemodialysis, neurology, vascular surgery, gastroenterology, hematology, oncology, general and thoracic surgery, anesthesiology and intensive care, gynecology, imaging diagnosis, clinical laboratory, etc. This enables a comprehensive approach and successful treatment of complex clinical cases as well as patients with multiple comorbidities.
In addition to hospital care, cardiologists provide a significant number of ambulatory consultations, both for hospitalized patients and for those who visit the clinic through referrals from the National Health Insurance Fund or on a fee-for-service basis. Ambulatory examinations are scheduled in the afternoon, with an appointment at the reception desk.
